Dave Harvey

(D. Min – Westminster Theological Seminary) serves as the president of Great Commission Collective, a church planting ministry in the US, Canada and abroad. Dave pastored for 33 years, founded AmICalled.com, and travels widely across networks and denominations as a popular conference speaker. He is the author of When Sinners Say “I Do”Am I Called, Rescuing Ambition, I Still Do! Growing Closer and Stronger Through Life’s Defining Moments, The Plurality Principle: How To Build and Maintain a Thriving Church Leadership Team and an upcoming release titled Stronger Together: Seven Partnership Virtues and the Vices That Subvert Them. Dr. Heath Lambert

Dr. Heath Lambert has been preaching at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida since January of 2016, and became Senior Pastor in September of 2017. Serving First Baptist is the joy of Pastor Heath’s life. He is delighted to serve with the remarkable members and staff at this incredible church. Prior to serving at First Baptist, Pastor Heath served as the Executive Director of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), and as a professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He is the author of several books, including The Biblical Counseling Movement After Adams (Crossway, 2011), Finally Free: Fighting for Purity with the Power of Grace (Zondervan, 2013), and A Theology of Biblical Counseling: The Doctrinal Foundations of Counseling Ministry (Zondervan, 2016).

Heath earned a bachelor of arts (B.A.) in biblical and theological studies and political science from Gordon College in 2002, a master of divinity (M.Div.) in Christian Ministry from Southern Seminary in 2005, and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in biblical counseling and systematic theology from Southern Seminary in 2009.

He is married to Lauren and they have three children: Carson, Chloe, and Connor.

Spencer Harmon

Spencer is the Nocatee Campus Pastor and is passionate about leading people to a real encounter with the living God through His Word. His prayer is that the Nocatee campus would be a place where vibrant and authentic relationships grow that are centered on Christ.

Prior to joining First Baptist Church, Spencer was the Senior Pastor of Vine Street Baptist Church, a chaplain, and worked in higher education.

Spencer is married to Taylor, and they have four children: Melody, Harper, Wally, and Nora.

The Nocatee Campus’s devotion to God and His Word, their eagerness to grow, and their warm love for one another has made First Baptist Church home for the Harmons.

Sean Perron

Sean (M.Div., The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) serves as the Associate Pastor and is an ACBC certified counselor with a specialization in marriage counseling. He is the author of three books: Letters to a Romantic: On DatingLetters to a Romantic: On Marriage, and Letters to a Romantic: The First Years.  He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied. Theology with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling from Midwestern Theological Seminary.

Sean has been married to Jenny for 10 years, and they have two children. He is most passionate about the work of pastoral ministry, his family, and hot tea. He is blessed by the sincere Christians of First Baptist Church and their passion for the Bible.

Dr. Ernie Baker

Ernie (D.Min., Westminster Theological Seminary) serves First Baptist Church as Pastor of Counseling and Discipleship.

He has been in ministry for 41 years as a pastor in Virginia and as a professor at The Master’s University (Santa Clarita, CA) where he continues to serve as the chair of the online biblical counseling program. He is a fellow with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and a certified conciliator with The Institute for Christian Conciliation.

Ernie is passionate about people and serving them for the glory of God and the relevance of the Bible for the many counseling issues humans face. He loves mentoring and discipleship and finds great joy in watching people grow in relationship with the Lord and each other.

In his spare time, Ernie enjoys studying The American Civil War, gardening, and hunting.

Ernie and his wife, Rose, are blessed with six children: three boys and three girls. They have 11 grandchildren and can testify to the truth of 3 John 4: “I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my children are walking in truth.”

Ernie and Rose love the people of First Baptist Church and the blessing of the fellow staff members.

Martha Peace

Martha Peace is a biblical counselor to women. She has been certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors for over thirty-one years and is a volunteer counselor in her church, Faith Bible Church, located in  Sharpsburg, Georgia. Her heart is to be used by God as a Titus 2 woman. As a result, she has written several books including The Excellent Wife, Attitudes of a Transformed Heart, Precious Truths in Practice and her latest, Biblical Counseling in Practice.

She has spoken at ladies’ conferences in various parts of the United States and the world. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Sanford, for 55 years. They have two children, Anna and David, twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Dr. Richard Lucas

Richard (Ph.D., The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is the Pastor of Teaching and Reaching at First Baptist Jacksonville where he oversees adult education and missions ministries.

Prior to his move to Florida, he served as a pastor in Vermont and as a theological mentor to church planters in New England at The NETS Center for Church Planting and Revitalization.

Richard married his childhood sweetheart, Tina, more than twenty years ago at their home church in Philadelphia. God has blessed them with four children who are all actively involved in student ministry.

Richard is the co-editor of Covenantal and Dispensational Theologies: Four Views on the Continuity of Scripture (IVP) and also a contributor to Progressive Covenantalism: Charting a Course between Dispensational and Covenantal Theologies (B&H).

Along with his family, he enjoys spending time outside in the beautiful Florida weather. Richard considers it a great joy and privilege to serve at First Baptist Jacksonville because of the church’s commitment to the gospel, the strength of the leadership, and the warmth of the people.

Ryan Trzeciak

Ryan (DMin, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) serves First Baptist Church as the Co-Director of The Grace Center. A native of Southern California, he spent his formative years in church, serving in ministries, and working at youth camps. He married Jennifer in 2001 where they continued together in ministry in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle.

Ryan loves serving First Baptist because of the church’s devotion to Christ, its commitment to discipleship, and its passion to obey the two greatest commandments: to love God and love others.

Ryan and Jennifer have been blessed with five wonderful children: Jacob, Warren, Aubrey, Daniel, and Elise. As a family, they enjoy reading, board games, road trips, movie nights, and pizza Fridays.

When he’s not in the office, you can find Ryan running, reading, spending time with friends and family, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.

John Blount

John currently serves as the Associate Pastor of the Nocatee Campus after a storied career as a commercial building contractor and 20 years in various pastoral and administrative roles at First Baptist Church. He serves as a biblical counselor, Bible teacher, and assists the Campus Pastor and staff.

He is passionate about applying the word of God to the hearts and needs of people and pointing them to God for their joy and help. He is blessed by a church that values the Bible and God’s use of it to guide in all of life and godliness.

He and his wife, Ann, have celebrated 40 years of marriage and enjoy spending time with their adult children. John also enjoys golf, fishing, gardening, and travel.

Dr. Scott Connell

Scott (Ph.D., The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) loves the privilege of leading worship for the greatest singing church in the Southern Baptist Convention. Before coming to First Baptist in 2017, he was a professor of worship leadership at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where he served a variety of churches in worship leadership. He has also served in various pastoral roles at churches in Tennessee, Texas, Maryland, Kentucky, and Indiana. He has been a minister of music/youth, worship pastor, teaching pastor, Christian school principal, church planter, and senior pastor.

He is passionate about worshiping Jesus and leading others to experience his splendor and glory in corporate worship. He wants people to know the beauty and life-giving experience of authentic worship and relationship with Jesus Christ through the power of the gospel. He is passionate about his wife, Mary, and their 7 children-Caleb, Isaac, Samuel, Noah, Jonathan, Grace, and Phinehas (yes, 6 boys and 1 girl!).

He loves serving at First Baptist Church and living in Jacksonville, FL. He is adamant that the best thing about this church is the people. There is no better group of people to love God with and serve one another (especially the choir and orchestra).

Dr. Sullivan

Dr. John Sullilvan

Dr. John Sullivan has spent more than 65 years in ministry, serving Baptist churches across the country. Since 2007, he has served as First Baptist’s Senior Adult Pastor, teaching and caring for the rapidly expanding segment of the congregation.

Dr. Sullivan finds joy in watching people develop in the faithful work of the Lord. His desire at First Baptist is to support the pastors and staff by providing leadership and bringing awareness to the needs and challenges of the Senior Adult ministry. Each week, you will find him faithfully teaching the Bible in Sunday School and his Tuesday morning Bible study. 

He has three children, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren with each generation growing more intelligent and beautiful.  He loves his church family and how they love the Word of God and love to see others come to Christ.

Trevor Komatsu

Trevor (M.Div., The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is First Baptist’s Next Gen pastor where he lends guidance to the children’s, young adult, and college ministries.  A native Hawaiian, Trevor moved to Louisville, KY, to further his education where he met his wife, Amber. While there, he spent time working for the Association of Biblical Counselors and in student life.

Coty Hoskins

Coty (B.S., Boyce College) serves First Baptist Church as the Executive Pastor. Prior to joining First Baptist, he owned and operated a commercial cleaning business for four years. The call to ministry led him to sell the company and move to Jacksonville. His transition to Executive Pastor in 2019 combined his call to ministry with his passion for business.

Coty and Renee were married in 2015, and they have three sons: Everett, Bennett, and Hayes.

Coty counts it a joy to be at a church that loves Jesus and loves Jacksonville; he looks forward to what the Lord will do in the coming years.

Jen Trzeciak

Jen Trzeciak has been married to her hubby, Ryan, for 20 years.  The Lord recently brought their whole family, including their five children, on a cross county adventure from Seattle, WA to serve him at First Baptist Church Jacksonville. Jen graduated from The Master’s University with her M.A. in Biblical Counseling and loves having a front row seat to watching God grow and change women through his Son and his Word.  She loves going to the beach with her family, reading, and pizza Fridays.

Mary Connell

Mary is a gifted speaker and writer.  Throughout her ministry, she has served faithfully in student ministry, women’s ministry, as a church planter, a pastor’s wife, and on short-term missions in Mexico and Africa.  Currently, she serves alongside her husband, Scott, at First Baptist Church Jacksonville.  Mary and her husband have seven children.
