First Baptist Church Jacksonville is committed to making an eternal impact in the Jacksonville area and beyond. We offer many different ways to give and your consistent financial support helps us accomplish our mission of Reaching All of Jacksonville with All of Jesus for All of Life.
The Five Principles of Giving
At First Baptist Church Jacksonville, giving flows from God’s generosity toward us. We give because God first gave, beginning with the biblical tithe of ten percent and growing into joyful, abundant generosity. Giving should come from gladness, not guilt, as we trust God to provide for our needs. Scripture teaches that we can’t afford not to give, for God promises blessing to the faithful. Ultimately, generosity reflects our devotion to Christ, who is Lord over every part of life.
The Bible is clear in James 1:17 that, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father.” In 2 Corinthians 8:9 the Bible says, “You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.” These truths mean that, when God asks us to give, he has not asked us to do more for him than he has done for us.
The Bible teaches that giving is part of our worship and trust in God. In the Old Testament, God commanded His people to bring a tithe—ten percent of their income—to His work (Malachi 3:10). The New Testament calls believers to even greater generosity, giving joyfully and abundantly (2 Corinthians 9:6). At First Baptist Church Jacksonville, we strive to grow in generous giving, investing in God’s Kingdom and experiencing the blessings that come through obedience.
We do not want anyone to give out of the guilty motivations of peer pressure, shame, or fear. We desire that people give knowing that God has given everything for them (2 Corinthians 8:9) and intends to provide all their needs in Christ (2 Corinthians 9:8). We give gladly, therefore, knowing that “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
The God who makes it a sin to put him to the test insists that his people test him with regard to their generosity, “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse … put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the window of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need” (Malachi 3:10).
We love and trust Jesus Christ and have followed him as our Savior and Lord. We want him to be the King over every corner of our life. Matthew 6:21 says that, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Jesus makes clear that our love for him must be reflected in our generous giving or it does not exist. Our commitment to live all of life for Jesus compels us to grow in the generosity of giving.

Yes. First Baptist Church Jacksonville is a registered nonprofit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible and you’ll receive a giving statement each year for your records.
We encourage everyone to be All In with their giving meaning that each gift be allowed to fund Community Life, Missional Outreach, and Special Projects. However, if after learning about All In one still feels lead to designate a gift, we will joyfully receive it.

Yes. You can easily schedule automatic recurring gifts online or through our church app. This helps you stay consistent in generosity, even when you’re out of town or unable to attend in person.
First Baptist Church Jacksonville practices financial accountability through both internal and external checkpoints. The internal checkpoints happen through our Trustee Board as they review reports and have access to every transaction. The external checkpoints come through an annual third-party independent audit and through our membership with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
