Baptism Guide

Baptism is a powerful symbol of how Jesus has transformed your life! It’s an opportunity to inspire other Christians and share the life-changing message of the gospel.

Take Your First Steps:

  1. Talk with a Pastor – Share how God has been working in your life to guide your heart toward baptism.
  2. Submit your Baptism Form – Submit your information and write your testimony.
  3. Be Baptized – Publically share your faith in Jesus as you participate in baptism by immersion.

Your Baptism Day:

  • Meet and Prepare: Arrive 15 minutes before the service starts to meet with the pastor in the sanctuary. He’ll guide you through the process and address any questions you may have.

  • Attire and Accessories: We’ll provide you with a towel and a baptism t-shirt. Wear dark, loose-fitting pants (shorts are allowed) and bring a change of clothes, along with any essentials you need to get dried off and “put back together” after you’ve been baptized (i.e. hair dryer, brush, make-up, etc).

  • Your Baptism: The pastor will lead you to the baptismal (or ocean, if participating in a beach baptism), explain aloud the significance of baptism, read your testimony to our congregation, and ask if you are trusting in Christ alone for your salvation. Your response aloud, “I am,” will initiate the baptism, and we will celebrate your life in Christ together! 

Baptism is Worship

Although there are important details to think through, and some find standing in front of people intimidating – remember that this is worship. We are declaring publicly that Jesus’ death and resurrection washes us from our sins. We are reenacting what has happened to us by the cleansing power of Christ’s death on the cross. Pray that God will help you to be baptized and use your testimony in the strength he provides (1 Peter 4:11). We are so grateful that God has saved you and adopted you into his family, and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
