 G.L.O.W. CAMP | JUNE 6 – 9, 2022

G.L.O.W. Camp introduces kindergarten-5th grade students to art, science, music and more while keeping their focus on Jesus. With four days of jam packed fun, we know your child will be excited to join us each day.

Because of community interest and the limited capacity of our building, this year we are thrilled to offer two G.L.O.W. opportunities to choose from. Our morning edition is 9:00AM – 12:00PM, and our evening edition is 5:00PM – 8:00PM.

To celebrate our week, students and families from both editions are invited to join us for a huge family night on Sunday, June 12 from 5:00-7:00PM.  Check out details below.

CHECKING IN:

  • Every day you will use one of our kiosks to check in using the phone number associated with your registration. 3 labels will be printed for each child.
    • Label 1: Child’s Name tag for the day (Be sure allergy info is marked and photo preference)
    • Label 2: Give to child’s team leader. (Be sure to remember the team # all week).
    • Label 3: Parent keep for pick up – this is required. It must be handed to Team Leader.
  • A helpful hint for those worried about losing it or another adult picking up- take a photo of it on your phone- we will allow you to show the photo at pick up. There will be a new security code daily though, so you would need a new photo each day if you go that route.
  • They will be on the SAME team every day. Pick up is at their team row (same as where you will drop off).

SECURITY:

  • The parent pick up (Label 3 above) will be required for each child, each day. This must be shown to your child’s team leader.
  • Please remind your student to NOT leave their team row if they see you. They must wait until you present the pick up label to the team leader. This ensures all children are accounted for at dismissal and helps keep your child safe. This is especially important if you have multiple children- make sure they know you will come to their row once you have their siblings.
  • A photo of the label will also be permissible for pick up, as long as it is the correct day with the current security code.
  • A driver’s license is not permissible for pick up.
  • Because we use every space of our campus, non-volunteering adults are not allowed to stay on campus throughout the sessions. Once the worship rally is over, all non-volunteers must exit. This is just another step in protecting your child, ensuring  adults  that are not cleared  have no access to students.
  • If you need to pick up your student earlier than dismissal time, please email SarahM@fbcjax.com in advance, or notify the registration team at check in. For early pick up please come to one of our main lobby desks for assistance.

Bring sport chairs/tents if desired for outdoor seating, and a towel if your child wants to enjoy the water slides and games.

How can I make sure my child is on a team with a friend?

  • If you want your child to be on the same team as another child (in the same age group), the way to ensure this happens is to check in together on Monday. Just let our volunteers know inside the auditorium.
  • By checking in together our volunteers will take them to the same team., This is reserved for 2-3 students max. Please don’t plan to check in with 8 other students to be on one team. Making new friends is a fun part of GLOW Camp.

What if my child has allergies?

  • If your student has a food allergy and is unable to have our snacks please send a snack with them. All snacks must be marked with: FULL NAME, GRADE ENTERING, and TEAM NUMBER
  • Snacks brought from home will be dropped off at check in with a volunteer.

Should I send a water bottle with my student?

    • We will have water on hand, so please do not need to bring water bottles with your student.

Can students with special needs participate?

    • If you have a student registered who needs special assistance or needs special accommodations with our special needs ministry, please email SarahM@fbcjax.com.

    Can I volunteer?

    • If you are a member of First Baptist Church for at least six months, you can register to volunteer and participate in the updated child protection training.
    • If you are not a member, you are unable to volunteer. (This includes youth).

What if our plans change and we can no longer attend?

    • Email SarahM@fbcjax.com with your students names and the session they are registered for.

Do you have any summer events for middle and high school students?

    • YES!
    • BLOCK PARTY: We are co-hosting a huge youth event with Young Life at the end of June right here on our campus. Registration will be posted here soon! You can follow @firststudentsnocatee on Instagram and stay up to date.
