New Booklet Release: The Sufficient Message for Ministry in Paul’s Day and Ours (Free Download)
First Press is excited to release Dr. Heath Lambert’s new booklet, The Sufficient Message for Ministry in Paul’s Day and Ours, now available as a free PDF download.
This resource began as a chapel sermon delivered at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in October 2024, and it comes at a critical time for the biblical counseling movement. Many are increasingly tempted to mix Scripture with secular therapeutic strategies. Dr. Lambert addresses this temptation with urgency and clarity, showing that what Paul faced in Corinth is the same challenge we face today.
Paul confessed his weaknesses, but he refused to supplement God’s Word with the wisdom of the world. Instead, he “decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). That conviction gave his ministry true spiritual power. The same conviction is necessary today if we want to see lives truly transformed.
This booklet is for pastors, counselors, and every believer who longs to minister with confidence in God’s Word. It dismantles the case for “integration” and reminds us that biblical sufficiency is not an outdated idea—it is the only hope for genuine soul care.
We commend this resource to you with prayerful confidence that it will strengthen your convictions, renew your confidence in the gospel, and equip you for faithful ministry in a confusing age.
