Boston Serve Trip 2025
We’re proud to support Pastor Hunter Guthrie and his wife Meredith at First Baptist Church of Medfield, Massachusetts. Hunter and Meredith grew up in our church, are a product of our church’s NextGen ministry, interned at our church during college, and our church paid for Hunter’s seminary education as he was a recipient of the Lindsey Scholarship.
This historic church, founded around the time of the Declaration of Independence, continues to be a faithful beacon of the Gospel in their community. Recently, our mission team had the privilege of serving alongside them by:
- Updating their kitchen facilities
- Remodeling their bathrooms
- Renovating their foyer to create a warmer, more welcoming entrance
We’re thankful for the opportunity to partner with Hunter and Meredith as they serve their community and share the good news of Jesus Christ. Through our continued support, we hope to help First Baptist Church of Medfield shine even brighter as a light for the Gospel.

Thank You Letter From Medfield Pastor
Dear Brothers and Sisters of FBC Jacksonville,
I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I write this letter to thank you for your incredible generosity and faithful service to FBC Medfield. The 13 men you sent to us worked tirelessly—day and often late into the night—to bring much-needed progress to a renovation project that had stalled for far too long. We stand in awe of how God moves through His people to accomplish His purposes.
As many of you know, ministering in New England is no easy task. This region abandoned the gospel long ago, and our churches have suffered greatly for it. It seems that few have any interest in Jesus Christ. And yet we remain steadfast in our mission to proclaim His truth. And despite the overwhelming numbers of people who pay him no attention, he is still saving people in this rocky soil! Your support—both in prayer and in physical presence—has given us renewed encouragement to keep pressing forward. Seeing your men labor with such determination and joy was a powerful testimony to us all, reminding us that the work of the Lord is never in vain.
Yet even in such a spiritually difficult environment, we have seen firsthand that God is already at work in the life of our church. With the encouragement and example set by your church, we eagerly look forward to seeing what else He may do through us for His kingdom. Meredith and I are always humbled when we consider that our home church continues to pray for us and care for us! Knowing that we are not alone, that we are backed by a family of believers who love and support us, means the world. It was a joy for me personally to fellowship with Pastor Ryan and George, and to get to know all of the men who poured themselves into this effort.
We also want to share how much our people enjoyed breaking bread with your team. Though we come from very different contexts, we serve one Lord, and so we truly have everything in common. This experience has stirred something in our congregation—it has made us reflect on how we, too, can serve others as you have so graciously served us.
Our prayer is that the Lord would continue to grow FBC Medfield into a church like yours—one that can bless congregations around the world with gospel truth and clarity from God’s Word. That we could make much of Jesus in word and in deed.
The harvest is plentiful, even here, but the workers are few. Please continue to pray for our witness in this spiritually desolate place, and that God would raise up leaders among us to help further His kingdom.
Thank you again for your unwavering support and faithfulness. We are deeply grateful, and we praise God for you.
In Christ,
Pastor Hunter FBC Medfield
