At First Baptist, we work very hard in developing programs and opportunities that will help followers of Christ, regardless of age, grow in their spiritual lives.

Haiti Disaster Relief

Important:

NEW LAW PERMITS 2009 CHARITABLE DEDUCTION FOR HAITI RELIEF CONTRIBUTIONS MADE AFTER JANUARY 11, 2010 AND BEFORE MARCH 1, 2010.

How can you help with the disaster relief effort to Haiti?

  • Pray
  • Give
Money is needed for medicine, food, water and other supplies. There will be items needed once teams are able to go in and those needs will be communicated as soon as we know them.
  • Go
At this time only military and professional relief personnel are allowed into Haiti.  Once volunteer teams are allowed to go in, we will. We are staying in constant contact with the Florida Baptist Convention and will follow their lead. If you feel the Lord leading you to go to Haiti, there are things you can do now to prepare such as passports, updated immunizations and other such preparations. As soon as we know more about preparing teams to go into Haiti, we will post information here.

If you have any questions, please contact the Missions office at missions@fbcjax.com or call 904.366.1325.

For the past few years we have had a partnership with the Florida Baptist Convention in our efforts to help the people of Haiti.  We are continuing this partnership and following their lead.

At this time we are asking people if they want to help they can give financially and mark it as "Disaster Relief" through envelopes provided in our church services or by clicking here for online donation. This money will go to help provide medical and food supplies for the victims in Haiti.

We are also assessing the need for volunteer teams and will be sharing that with our folks as it develops.

Thank you for concerns for the people of Haiti at this time. Continue to keep them in your prayers and look for updates regularly as we work with the Florida Baptist Convention.
